Jasper "Jazz" Howard

Howard's talent earned him a scholarship to the University of Connecticut, where his future looked promising until it was cut short.

Jasper was killed on October 18, 2009, at the young age of 20. He was a son, brother, father to be and friend.


Now he's Miya's Guardian Angel. 

Jasper Tyrone Howard, better known to his family and friends as Jazz, was born on January 28, 1989, in Miami, Fl. Jazz was full of life and loved to make others smile. As a young child, he developed a love and passion for playing football. It was through football that he found hope to make a better life for himself and his family.

In 2014, Jasper Howard was honored

with a Memorial Statue at Rentschler

Field in East Hartford, Connecticut. 

A large mural of Jazz stands in the lobby of the Burton Family Football Complex located on the University of Connecticut's campus.
